This on the face of it sounds more like a network DNS issue that a Thunderbird one. Quite possibly related to IP V6.

A new Fibre connection will almost certainly be using IPV6. If it still supports IPV4 on which much of the email servers still rely is questionable. Legacy anything is a problem these days and not all IPV6 networks are created equal.

First off try disabling ipV6 in Thunderbird. Use the config editor to set the preference network.dns.disableIPv6 to True Restart Thunderbird.

Any change?
