Hi, Thunderbird did an automatic update yesterday, I have now lost all emails from August to yesterday (December), some had some important information in them which I need. Any idea on how I get them back. I did another update today to 91.4 in the hope the lost emails would 'come back' but sadly not so. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

I upgraded the Thunderbird 91.4 (64- bit) recently. I just noticed I can't drag and drop attachments any more. Obviously not in the old way, but also not in the new way d… (mear ynfo)

I upgraded the Thunderbird 91.4 (64- bit) recently. I just noticed I can't drag and drop attachments any more. Obviously not in the old way, but also not in the new way described in all the release notes and announcements. When I click on any file (I've tried pdf, jpg, mp4 among others), all I get is the circle with a line through it, indicating I can't perform that operation.

Anyone else finding this? I REALLY don't want to manually add every attachment in emails! Thanks in advance.

yesterday i opened thunderbird as usual and it looked different. background colors and other stuff. i started looking to see what had changed and i found on the About tab that it said i was on the "release update channel" I'm using ver 68.12.1 and it has worked flawlessly for me. how did i get here and how do i get back? I am very scared to do anything without clear instructions from someone who really knows Thunderbird because i know how easily i could delete years of stuff... which would be devastating!

Global Inbox - I Did It, Thought it Worked, but my Test Emails to 2 Email Addresses Show the Same Recipient

Well, I THOUGHT my Global Inbox Unify task had gone smoothly today. In short, in Server Settings in the left-hand pane I had a pop.earthlink.net account, pop.earthlink.ne… (mear ynfo)

Well, I THOUGHT my Global Inbox Unify task had gone smoothly today. In short, in Server Settings in the left-hand pane I had a pop.earthlink.net account, pop.earthlink.net(1) account (beats me why) and my new NON-earthlink (yes, still pop) email account. I will be cancelling earthlink any minute now, so maybe all this will be solved by that event, but I'm still concerned.

I did the Global Unify instructions from Mozilla Support. The result was a thing of beauty... a single Inbox, Sent "special folders" I think they're called, all under "Local Folders" ... no longer the two separate Inboxes and such.

BUT... right after doing the Global Inbox task, I ran a test, sending a single test email inside Thunderbird from my earthlink email address, with "TO" being my non-earthlink email address, and a CC to my earthlink email address.

This is hard to describe without telling/showing what my email addresses are!

The result in that inside-TBird test is that I receive both copies of that single email... yay ... BUT the "Recipient" column in TBird shows my Non-earthlink email address for BOTH emails. I expected to see the Recipient column say my Non-earthlink email address for one copy and my earthlink email address for the other. This shouldn't be this way, right? I tend to notice problems when they're not problems, so hopefully this is one of those cases?

In ANOTHER test, I emailed from out on the web...on icloud.com. In that test, I sent a single test email from my icloud email address, with "TO" being my Non-earthlink email address, and a CC to my earthlink email address.

THAT result was slightly different in look: I received two emails...yay ... BUT both those emails show the Non-earthlink email address *twice* in the Recipient column in TBird, separated by a comma.

Should I be worried? I will be stopping my earthlink email service, but I'm concerned that this is a sign of trouble to come even once I cancel earthlink. Maybe at some point I can delete my pop.earthlink.net accounts listed in that left hand pane in TBird, or maybe could have already. I'm always afraid to delete things!

One bit of good news, perhaps: When I do a test to just *one* of my two email addresses -- either my earthlink email address or my Non-earthlink one, the resulting Recipient display in the TBird's Recipient column seems to always be fine...always the right recipient email address. In other words, the problem behavior seems to only be when I do a test to *both email addresses in a single email*, with a "TO" and a "CC."

Is there a different simple test with simple results I should be doing to test if I've got a Global Inbox Unify side effect problem? I suppose in real life no one would ever be sending to both my earthlink and non-earthlink email addresses simultaneously, but I'm still concerned by what I'm seeing.

I have Thunderbird 91.2.1 installed. in creating lists under an address book account (Icloud) I have noticed that it is not possible to include a contact in a list if that contact does not have an email address. This is annoying, I have to put a dummy email in. Is there a work around, or is this something for developers to tackle?

I'm having an issue with messages downloading to my inboxes over the past week or so...

Emails are not downloading automatically and loading to my inboxes. When I click the "Get Messages", only 3 emails at a time are being downloaded. I have restarted Thunderbird as well as my computer and neither have made any difference. I have not had an issue until recently - all emails were downloading without any manual intervention.

The server settings for my gmail accounts are: - pop.gmail.com, port 995 - check for new messages at startup - check for new messages every 5 minutes - automatically download new messages - leave messages on server

Has anyone experienced this issue? If so, what did you do to resolve? If there's any additional information I can provide, please let me know.

Twice in the last 2 months, one of my GMail accounts stopped moving new messages to my Local Folders as per the Filter rule. I clicked Get Messages repeatedly, closed and restarted TB. Nothing. I finally selected the Inbox and clicked Run Filters on Folder and ALL the messages were copied to my local folder again. Worse, when I clicked remove duplicates on the local folder, it only found 400 or so of the 26K messages. I can see many duplicates myself. Is there a way to see when TB retrieved or copied a message? If there were a column with that info, I could just zap all the "new" ones myself, but the OrderReceived column seems to be a GMail column. TIA, Bill

If I click on Tools, preferences. The program shows a white screen and crashes. Before the program crashes some times the buttons appear. See images.

I have a large gap in my emails from April this year, and despite making numerous changes to settings I cannot get them to upload to thunderbird, so I can have a historical record. I have made changes to IMAP in both Gmail and Thunderbird, no joy, so went back to POP3 in both, again no joy, if I click get messages I jest get a "connected to pop.gmail.com" then it clears and nothing has uploaded. Any ideas it is p***ing me off.

ISP is Optus. The only check they were interested in was, can I send from Optus webmail - which I can.
