Ever since I got this laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad X1 with 10th Gen I7 6-core processor), I have been unable to use Firefox because it is UNBELIEVABLY sluggish. It drags along even with only 1 tab open; Edge only bogs down if I have 50+ tabs open; and Chrome never bogs down even with 65+ tabs open. [BTW I don't use more than 1 browser at a time.] I tried unsuccessfully to troubleshoot Firefox when the laptop was new, but thought I'd give it another shot now ... with your help. The only thing I've done so far this time is to uninstall Firefox and remove all it's folders and do a fresh install ... but that didn't help. Thanks, Sandy

Some of the other common causes of the problem with slow web browsing or web browser taking a long time start could be: Cluttered temporary Internet files. Malware infection. Unwanted browser add-ons or extensions.

With it being a brand new install, there are very few temporary internet files and there have been no extensions added. The only 2 plugins are: OpenH264 Video Codec by Cisco; and Widevine Content Decryption Module by Google. I use Windows Security and monitor it faithfully. To my knowledge, no malware has ever made it through. Anything else you can think of for me to check? Thanks! Sandy

Oh, BTW, even switching between 4 open tabs hammers the CPU (according to Firefox's Task Manager: 85%).
