How do I delete double listings and contacts that I no longer want in my address book?

Generally I select them in the list and press the delete key. Does that not work for you?

Can anyone offer any answer to my problem: How can I delete double & Triple Same name entries in my Thunderbird Address Book? Some have email addresses and some do not. I try to delete them with the delete key, but they will not allow me to delete any contacts listed in my Address Book. Nothing happens! What can I do to edit my Address Book? Thanks for any help, RDC
Another mac user.
Perhaps look in your mac address book. Thunderbird only has read access to that.
https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/duplicate-contacts-manager/ can do this, but it does not yet work with the current versions.
According to https://github.com/DDvO/Duplicate-Contacts-Manager/issues/10#issuecomment-874565271 the author intends to fix it.
