Android: opening Firefox defaults to private browsing, unsure how to disable

For some reason every time I open FF on Android the default mode is now "private" (incognito). Not exactly a problem but under these circumstances my notification shade always has "close all private tabs", which I pretty much never want to do.

Pixel2XL running Android 11, this behavior only stated 2 or 3 days ago.

Thanks in advance!

Actually, I think the problem was I unintentionally had toggled the option for "open links in private tabs". Silly me :(
