new event disabled
Hello, Thunderbird 68.3.1 (32 bits) Windows 10 Since 2 weeks unable to create or update a calendar event : - menu item File -> New -< Event is disabled (grayed) - double click on calendar opens a pop up or new window form, I can enter event data fields , click on the Save and Close button (not grayed), but no save and no closing. Same after reinstallation, and same after installation of ligthning. Any idea ? Thanks for your help, and happy new year to you. Philippe

No other calendar-related add-on.
I tried to perform your test procedure, but the button Make changes and restart was inoperant.
I then started normally TB, then disabled Ligthning form menu Tools -> Add-ons, and restarted TB. Calendar and all calendar and event related menus disapeared.
I then enabled Ligthning and restarted TB : Bingo ! The calendar appears again, and I can now create or update and save events.
Hope this workaround will be persistent !

Is this with a local calendar or a network calendar, and if it's the latter, who is the calendar provider, e.g. google, outlook?
It's local calendar.
Thank you sfhowes
Do you have any other calendar-related add-ons? It's not possible to run TB in safe mode without disabling Lightning, but you can try this diagnostic step to check for a broken layout: start in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB), check 'Reset toolbars and controls' and click 'Make changes and restart'.
