occasionally when I clear the download list I lose the downloaded files in firefox 66
occasionally when I clear the download list I lose the downloaded files in firefox 66. Not all the time so I don't know why sometimes it just clears the list and keeps my downloads and sometimes clearing the list deletes my downlowads. I know it has something to do with the history but I don't know how to fix it. It's a pain to wait for a download just to see it get deleted. Hope someone can help, Tom Szaller

Clearing the download list should only remove the related history items in the History/Download Manager and not the files saved to the hard drive if that is what you mean.
How/Where are you remove these items? Is this in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)? If there are unfinished (paused) or corrupted downloads then that might explain this. Downloads marked as success shouldn't be affected.
I'm just clearing the download list under the download arrow. Normally I don't lose anything but sometimes I do. Makes no sense to me. Thanks for helping, Tom Szaller
Did you verify they were completed download not unfinished downloads.
Yes I did and looked at the fully downloaded files before they got deleted fat the clearing the download list. Tom
