Hmm, how did you save/download the files?

Most likely (if you see gibberish) they were not HTML, but some other kind of content that mistakenly got a .htm or .html file extension. Do you recall what they were supposed to be?

Sometimes the first few characters of the file give it away, such as PDF or JPEG. Then you can change the file extension to .pdf or .jpg to encourage the system or Firefox to interpret the content correctly. However, in other cases, it isn't possible to tell.

Hi Jscher downloaded from source (there was no choice on format) simply changed the extention to .pdf and all OK.
