I am not sure why, when searching in Firefox Focus, the search has the word Google posted first in the bar at the top? Can you not make Firefox Focus the true search engine? I set it as the default. I'm lost on this.

Focus is not a search engine.

You can change the default search engine in the settings. Tap the 3 dots in the address bar, select settings, and in the search section you can select a different search engine.
