After update Thunderbird won't retrieve messages from MSN accounts, says I need to enter new password. Have checked and can retrieve if I log into account (using same password I put into Thunderbird) and can get messages that way. It used to get messages from all my accounts until after the update. I read other forum entries and am not running Norton. I've tried all other "solutions" but none have fixed the problem. Only thing I haven't tried is: not using Tbird & get another email client to see if the problem is Tbird.

Microsoft has been turning off POP access to its free accounts. Log into your account directly at the MSN webpage and see if they did that to you. If so turn pop back on.
