i'm using thunderbird for my email messaging. when i reply to an email, why doesn't it show up in the inbox along with received email i replied to? it is nice to see the whole thread at once.

Solution choisie

It's standard to have copies of your replies placed in the Sent folder only. There's are options to change that behavior in <Account Settings | (account) | Copies & Folders>, including "Place replies in the folder of the message being replied to" that might do what you're looking for.

Personally, I would find that confusing. I like to keep all replies in one place, plus a reply usually has at least part of the previous message quoted in it, so the flow of the conversation is maintained. But, of course, you can and should set it up however it works best for you.
