Option to open new window not in fiefox 96 on macmini running OS 12.1, only new tab or new private window

There is no option to open a new window under firefox File menu.

Solution choisie

Make sure you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"

I had it as "Never remember history" which apparently moved it into private browsing mode. I corrected my selection.
