my thunderbird telus email account was taken/given over by Google, and the setting no longer work, nor does my password. I have spent hours with telus, and they say Thunderbird needs to assist. Can someone help me?

I have been using Thunderbird since Netscape days and truly love it, but I am having a real problem since Telus gave Google their email addresses to govern. My Thunderbird Telus email account was taken/given over by Google, and the settings no longer work, nor does my password. I have spent hours with telus, and they say Thunderbird needs to assist. Can someone help me?
