SMTP is failing with a timeout error at random times, and usually lasts 30 minutes to 8 hours. Then sending resumes.

Hosting is provided by Network Solutions (I know, time to change hosting services).

On the chance its Thunderbird, anyone else having randon timeouts with Thunderbird? The issue seems to have gotten much worse with the latest release: 52.5.2 (32-bit)

Not a AV or scan issue ... that would more likely be a random issue once in a while, and likely not affect a couple dozen send attempts over a few hours and then suddenly go away for a week or two.

I suspect the NetSol mail servers are occasionally overwhelmed and simply not responding during high traffic periods. But thought I'd ask about any known issues.

Dear X,

I am sorry to hear that you were experiencing issues with sending emails. Our email admins are working on the SMTP latency issue you reported. We have no ETA on this being corrected. We will email you once we believe this is resolved.
