The flashing symbol that represents typing appears in places it should be in when I click on any website.
It messes up my progress and there seems to be no information on it. For example, on this page when I was filling out this information, I checked where it could appear. One place was above the T in Mozilla Support. As in the dang title of the site. So one question, HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS!? From what it seems, it's only Firefox that does this and I can't fix. I've even uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it with all information gone. But NOPE! It just came back the next damn day!
I would show a picture, but I'm unable to do that.

Note: Caret browsing is still read only browsing. If you can actually delete text in web pages in this situation, there is something else (something strange!) going on.

There is a feature called "caret browsing" which is easy to accidentally enable by pressing the F7 function key. To turn that off, you could try either:
- press the F7 key again
- on the Options page, General panel, scroll down to the Browsing section and uncheck the box for "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages"
To open the Options/Preferences page, either:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
Success?
