FF 55 won't restore my previous session
FF 54 never worked right for me - it only opened one process, still used 1G for a few hundred opened but not loaded tabs, and CPU usage shot to 50-75%.
I hoped 55 would fix this, but it's even worse - it won't even finish restoring my previous session.
How do I revert to a previous version (e.g., 52) that didn't seem to have these problems? It would crash fairly often, but compared to the above problems I'll live with it.
Windows 7 system if that means anything.
I've enjoyed FF but I'm on the verge of giving up and living with the deficiencies of Chrome and Palemoon.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

You may have corrupt sessionstore file(s). Delete all sessionstore* files and the sessionstore-backups folder.
Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.
