Can't get to my thunderbird screen after update to 45.0

I updated to the latest release of thunderbnird. All I can do is read about the update. Cannot get past that to my email screen.

Very likely an addon is causing the problem. Start Thunderbird in safe mode as a test https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode and determine which addon
