Solution choisie

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Thanks a lot, that solved the problem.

I went into help and restarted with add-ons disabled and that got my Drag & Drop working, but I lost the benfits of Tab Mix Plus. So I eventually disabled my Reminder Fox and kept all the other add-ons enabled. shut down FF and then shut off my PC. After restarting everything is now working as it had been minus Reminder Fox.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for this thread to get me up and running again.

 :)

I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. If I go to 'safe mode' I think I will loose all my bookmarks and some other stuff maybe. I had to do 'Safe Mode' once before and that's what happened then.

I found ReminderFox add-on to be the problem and disabled it. That solved the problem.

Lynne,

Is your firefox set up & using the Sync option. If so then maybe there is a copy of your tabs that can be re-installed. I sync'd my previous computer to firefox and then sync'd my new computer and got all the tabs and folders...

Hi Thanks for replying Sir Dragalot, but I have no idea what the Sync Option is. thanks

Hi Aries2U I have disabled ReminderFox and everything is working again. Thank you so much. I just need to find another way of setting up reminders now.

Found a fix for this problem Remider Fox in the Reviews section for the add-on & I quote:

A fix should be coming, per author Rated 4 out of 5 stars by Ed on March 23, 2016 · permalink · translate

ReminderFox is causing 2 issues with Firefox 45. One is that tabs cannot be moved with click and drag. The other is that Firefox itself does not completely close on exit. Its' process continues to run in Windows Task Manager. Until a fix is released, the author has asked users to disable the Foxy Alerts Slider in the ReminderFox settings. This resolves both issues.

I've done this and can confirm that it works.

Hi Were do I find the 'Foxy Alert Slider' please?

more options

1. Open your menu by clicking on the 3-bar menu button 2. click on Add-ons 3. select reminder Fox's Options 4. Select Notifications 5. De - Select Foxy Alert Slider 6. Click Apply 7. If necessary click OK 8. Restart FF 9. If it's still not working shut the whole computer down. (I had to shut my computer completely down for the drag & drop to work after disabling my Foxy Alert Slider)
