thunderbird won't open cant find profile
Thunderbird was working fine till I went to get mail today. It came back with something like " it cannot connect to mail server" i didn't write it down. I went to the options and saw that the information for the profile was on my F drive even though the program was on the C drive. I foolishly copied the Profile folder to the C Drive and changed the information in the options to the C Drive.
Now Thunderbird cant find the program profiles and it won't open so I cant change it back. IT gives the message " Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible" I have tried everything offered in the help section and nothing is finding the correct profile.
Any help would be appreciated as I get over 100 emails a day and will run out of room on the comcast server
Thanks again Tom

Matt, If I search for the Profiles (both with % and Drive letter) windows only shows The program folder Thunderbird With a lot of folders and files but if I search the folder for Profiles.ini I get no results.
I have since figured out how to get Thunderbird back. There was a folder under C: named Thunderbird it had the profile and InI file I don't remember seeing it there but I put the correct profile In C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird and edited the config file to that location and it all works fine.
Thank you for your help in resolving this problem. Tom

I'm not sure how you did conclude that this is related to the 'cannot connect to mail server' error. In any case, you'd need to be a little more specific about what option you're talking about.
I foolishly copied the Profile folder to the C Drive
Did you copy or move the profile?
Please post the contents of your profiles.ini file.
Please post the exact path to your profile including the profile name when it was located on the F: drive.
Please provide the exact path where you copied the profile folder to on the C: drive.

First, Thank you for your fast response I appreciate your effort to help me. I tried many different things, some of which I don't remember but the answers to your questions are as follows:
"Did you copy or move the profile?" I copied it.
Please post the contents of your profiles.ini file. I can not find the Profiles.INI file on either drive.
"Please post the exact path to your profile including the profile name when it was located on the F: drive." F:\Thunderbird Profile\Profiles\ok1c1qf4.default
"Please provide the exact path where you copied the profile folder to on the C: drive." C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\ok1c1qf4.default
I also tried Searching windows for multiple variables of "profile.exe"to no avail
Again thanks for your help Tom
type the following into our start menu.
%appdata%\Thunderbird and press enter.
your profile.ini file is there and can be opened with a text editor (notepad)
Your Thunderbird profile if you want it on the C: drive should be in C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\profiles\ok1c1qf4.default
In the profiles.ini file.
Assuming you only have one profile in the profiles.ini file
[Profile0] Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=Profiles/ok1c1qf4.default Default=1
