Funny you should mention that, because I JUST noticed this problem tonight for me. From the main window I right clicked on an email and selected "Edit as new message..." and the message opened with all this capital A's with an arrow above it in the email.

Very weird.

ooops may have replied incorrectly...haven't used thunderbird support before..just in case, good to hear i"m not the only one with this issue...........help maybe on it's way

If I hit the space bar more than once or hit the enter key, the (what is meant to be blank spaces) are replaced with a uppercase A (this has a small up arrow above it).......I uninstalled, reinstalled using the backup file of the profiles.......same problem occurs.
