Links to third-party download sites

I don't see this covered in the Mozilla Support rules and guidelines, and can't find previous discussions about it.
If someone points users to a third-party download site for Firefox, I think we should remove or edit the link.
What does everyone else think?

Only exception I think would be is portable Firefox. https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable
Third-party builds of Firefox, I would rather people just mention them at most without a link.

I do agree, we should be pointing all users to mozilla.org for downloads.

It's been a week, and no-one has disagreed, so the next step is proposed changes to the Mozilla Support rules and guidelines page.
We could add a paragraph in the Links section with the following:
Do not post links to third-party download sites for Mozilla products. Third-parties sometimes fetch the wrong builds, or add malicious software to the download. Moderators may edit or remove links to third-party download sites.

Looks great. IMO you should add that paragraph to the Links section of Mozilla Support rules and guidelines. I'll post a link to this thread in that article's own Discussion forum.

Yes, except for Thunderbird, since https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird redirects to https://www.thunderbird.net/
A better solution might be to suggest linking to the related SUMO KB article; for example:
Install Thunderbird on Windows
How to install Firefox on Windows
Install an older version of Firefox
