Update: Forum Software changes
Sorry things may be rather confusing at present due to problems with the forum software.
Please note that in mid April we had to do a temporary emergency Rollback to old forum software (Kitsune). The information in this post is largely correct, other than the fact that Firefox OS development has now ceased and the use of twitter as a support method has changed (We no longer use what was referred to as the Army of Awesome) Please be aware that we do hope to rollforward to the new forum software (Lithium) again, but do not yet have any idea when that roll forward will take place.
Procedures, forum features, links and contributor facing advice articles are all subject to change because of this situation. Main related threads regarding the situation are currently:
- Important Announcement: Temporary Rollback to Kitsune /forums/contributors/712410
- [Rollback] L10n updates about rolling back & forward /forums/l10n-forum/712447
Welcome to Mozilla Support, or as we like to call it: SuMo!
We are really excited to have you with us! We need the help of every volunteer who believes in the Open Web!
Together, we can work towards shaping the future of the Web.
What do we do in SuMo? We support everything Mozilla: Firefox, Thunderbird, FirefoxOS and more!
The easiest way for a new contributor to get started is to ask for help in this forum. You should soon be contacted by experienced contributors. We do have very friendly, extra patient, and uber-eager people here wanting to answer any questions you may have about SuMo. No need to be shy, you should go for it! :-)
The only thing you have to do is post a new thread with some basic information about you. It would be very useful if you included information like:
- Your country and timezone - it would be easier if someone from your area assisted you
- Your skills and knowledge - it makes it easier for the person helping you to suggest what area of contribution would be most appropriate for you
- Your IRC nick (if you use IRC) - so you can meet online on our server
- Any other information you want to share with the rest of us (interests, hobbies etc.) - others with the same interests may want to meet you
So, go ahead... Make the first step to a great journey of helping and learning!
