For the past several weeks when open Firefox there is no address line or URL and I have to go to IE to get to a site if there is not a box for that site alread
Previous to several weeks ago there would be a address line when I open Firefox. There no longer is. it will have some of the sites I have previously visited in boxes on the page, but no way to go to a new site. I have to go to IE to get to any new site. When I click on the dropdown arrow under FIREFOX it brings up options for the HISTORY but when I make a selection it will not search. I need help. Thanks in advance

On the Firefox menu (orange button), if you hover your mouse on the triangle to the right of Options, can you see whether your Navigation toolbar is turned off? If so, turn that back on.
If it's on but nowhere to be found, the contents of the bar might be stored incorrectly. Sometimes the file that stores the customizations becomes corrupted and fails to update properly at the end of your session. You can rename the file and customize from scratch.
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Switch back to Firefox and Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename localstore.rdf to something like localstore.old
Restart Firefox. Hopefully the bars will be back to factory default. Any luck?

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible:
- Firefopx > Options
- "View > Toolbars"
Open the Customize window to set which toolbar items to display:
- View > Toolbars > Customize
- Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout
- If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
- If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up
