Hi Lois,
Thank you for reaching out to the Firefox community!
Please be very cautious. This email is highly likely to be a scam (phishing attempt). Legitimate companies and email providers will never lock an email or prevent you from reading it based on your Firefox version.
Scammers frequently send fake emails claiming you need to "Upgrade your browser" or "Update Firefox" to view a message. Clicking buttons inside those emails usually directs you to dangerous websites designed to steal your passwords or infect your computer with malware. Do not click any links or download any attachments inside that email.
To safely check if your Firefox browser actually needs an update, you should never use an email link. Instead, check directly inside Firefox using these official steps:
1. Click the Menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of Firefox. 2. Click on Help and select About Firefox. 3. A small window will open. Firefox will automatically check for updates and download them safely if any are available. If it says "Firefox is up to date," you are completely secure.
If your browser is already up to date and you still cannot open the email via your provider's website, please let us know who your email provider is (e.g., Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo) so we can help you troubleshoot further!
Best regards, Max
