How the f do I turn off 'Trending search suggestions'
How do I turn off yet another anti-privacy feature sponsored by Google Tracking(tm)??? The d* check-box is grayed out; the 'Manage Firefox Suggest' redirects back to the grayed out option. Know your audience.

- Are you in the permanent Private Browsing mode?
- What is your default search engine?
1. No, clear on close. 2. DDG
Btw, I only checked the main box temporarily, as apparently unchecking that one is insufficient too. So it goes, check-uncheck all-uncheck main.

Trending suggestions in the address bar are referring to DDG then, not to google, and that option is disabled/not functional for this search engine.
