new tab's weather dissapeared in v. 151.0.1

I'm sorry, maybe the problem was there in previous versions however I just noticed it. Or rather the absence of it. The problem is when I open a new tab where I had that mini weather report widget enabled (and I checked that the button in the settings is set to be enabled) the widget is not there anymore, nowhere to be seen.

I made two screenshots of my browser's new tab with no weather widget and one with the settings open to show that the weather widget on/off button is enabled. I'm sorry however that I had to blur things I thought it would be sensitive information.

My OS is Win11 Home Greek and my Firefox is in Greek as well.

This discussion thread https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/firefox-151-introduces-a-fresh-new-look-for-home-amp-new-tab/td-p/125715

To see, you can test, browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.nova.enabled

1 - Go to configuration editor https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-config-editor-firefox 2 - Enter a search term browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.nova.enabled You can double-click on the preference to set the value to false

There seems to be a bug in moving the weather widget to the new home design for folks:

This is a reply to Agent virtuel's reply. A re-reply if you will... Yes, this solution brought back the weather widget but this, kind of defeat the purpose of the new design. Doesn't it? I include the result screenshot after the solution applied.

Also thank you jbr. I thought that it would be a bug, but it also pass through my mind that I did something wrong and destroyed it somehow, hence my original post...

As I see the situation, we, the users, have to give the new design a bit more time to iron out the code.

Thank you everybody!

No worries. There's usually just too many moving parts. This also isn't broken, the bug update mentions internal prefs that when flipped just allow this to work even on the new home page, so for those bothered by this the bug timeline has the clues;) … There's not a known cause at this point why such setup is needed, how the prefs drifted apart for affected users, or what audience is impacted, but… it will either get a remote flip, home tab update out of band, or a trivial patch in the next cycle… something like that. The widget is being test–driven just fine in the meantime, the more interesting is the investigation into why this even happens for some folks, but no news on that front yet — that'll happen next week. (I haven't personally read the linked reddit threads, but they also might have some updates if folks tinker more with their prefs…)
