All my bookmarks disappeared
So I reformatted my hard drive and everytime I finish I reinstall Firefox. I have an account where I log in and it put me back where I left off with all my past bookmarks that I saved. Ive been doing this for 10 years but today not sure whats going on but when I logged if all my stuff has disappeared. Please help or contact Mozilla regarding this. I cant understand why one cant directly speak to the ones who developed this browser. Quite frustrating

Hi
Thank you for your question about the Firefox Sync service.
It appears from your question, that you are using Firefox Sync as a back up service. This is not what Sync is designed to do. The Firefox Sync service takes a copy of the data you wish to include and transfers it to a second device (typically a mobile device such as a tablet or a telephone) running a copy of Firefox. The storage in between all attached devices is both temporary and fragile and is not stable enough to be (and is not designed as) a reliable backup service.
If you have a copy of your Firefox profile for desktop Firefox, you may be able to recover your bookmarks and other data. Please have a read of this article.
If you have a copy of your data on a mobile version of Firefox, please follow these instructions to connect it to Firefox Sync to copy your data.
I appreciate your reply but these "article" suggestions do nothing to fix my problem only navigational tools to fix a problem from happening from this point on it seems. It doesnt help me to bring them back. I know that when Id reinstall my operatiing system, logged into my Firefox, BAM all my bookmarks would appear instanly in the Firefox pull down menu on the right and it not. I think its a good idea to leave Firefox because THEY should be able to resolve this problem effectively
