Do containers share history?

itzaamir

Aren't containers supposed to be not sharing the history among other things with each other. Here is what I have noticed: - Urls from a different container appear in another container when typing the address. - Urls from a container appear when typing the address in a non container mode. Both the cases somehow undermine the whole container thing. I don't know if someone else has noticed such things or not, but they do seem strange to me. Hence the question, do containers share history? If so, then the containers just become a gimmick.

Containers apply to the content process that opens the page in a tab and isolate cookies and storage. This has nothing to do with the browsing history as that is global as spans all sites you have visited and all open tabs and windows, so history is not container aware. I don't know if there are extensions that are container aware when it comes to history. Reopening a closed tab (Ctrl+Shift+T) opens this tab in the same container, but opening the same page from the history doesn't do this. I don't know whether opening a page from the history can open this page in the same container when you do not use an extensions that forces pages from a specific domain to open in this container.
