Can I be sure Thunderbird won't suddenly delete all my emails and addresses again?
This is the second time I have had to set up my filing system for emails and addresses. The first time everything suddenly disappeared, emails going back several years, and all the address book, vanished and I was asked to open a new account

There are no guarantees when using computers or software. A lost profile question is posted here about once a month so it happens. Here is an article on how to recover from it and not start from scratch. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recovering_a_profile_that_suddenly_disappeared
