How can I stop FF asking me to 'take the tour' evry time I open a tab?
I have taken the F tour thinking that would stop it asking me to take it every time I open FF or a new tab. I know it's not a big deal in the greater scheme of things but it's bloody annoying and I'd like to turn it off - help anyone?
Chosen Solution
yes, thanks for following up. though i cannot say how this happened, just installing the following addon should help: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/ (it will reset some preferences to their default values and uninstall again afterwards)

hello johnh5x, what you describe sounds very unusual as this should not happen under normal circumstances. could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...
Hi Philipp - I think this is what you are asking for? What I get on each tab is a box in the top r/h corner of the screen that says "Take a tour" "It's the fastest most flexible FF ever" and then two buttons 'take the tour' or 'not now' it only appeared after my last FF upgrade and I thought by ignoring it eventually it would go away and then I gave up and took the tour and it still won;t go away! Thanks for your interest. John
