I have been using Outlook Lite to keep my work inbox separate from my personal, I was going to switch over to Thunderbird however I need authorisation from my IT Dept to allow access. What do I need to detail in the request to them in order to quickly / easily get them to process this?
I get a message that says my server certificate has expired and I can't send or receive emails. I'm ready to ditch Thunderbird. I've had this twice this year.

Everything in the program freezes up. I cannot even close it.
I am running Version 140.8.0esr on a Windows 10 PC.
Initially I was getting a pop up warning message that ask me to confirm if I wanted to send an email with attachments of over 20 MB. There were 3 or 4 such messages. I had not tried to send such emails.
I checked the Outbox in Local folders for old messages, but it was empty. I also checked the Unsent messages files in Local Folders in the Profile folder. I deleted the Unsent Messages.msf file to no effect. I renamed and replaced the Unsent messages file. Also no change.
I checked for crash logs but there are none.
I have run out of ideas as to what to try next. Does anyone have any advice?

Checked all settings compared to Yahoo, still won't download messages. I can even send a message with my current settings no problem, and it does login, just won't retrieve emails. Gives me a connection timeout.

Two identical spam emails came in, and I deleted both from my Inbox. Both had attachments. Deleting them moved them to the Trash folder. When I went to the Trash folder, I found both emails had been combined into one file. Is that "threading"? I don't want any emails to be combined together EVER. Previously I had checked the "Unthreaded" box in Settings; so if this was threading, why did it happen?
Another question: I couldn't find anything to do with this combined file but to delete it. Did the act of deleting it also delete the attachments, which probably contained viruses?
This "threading" business has been going on for years now. I always check the options that supposedly disable it, but then it keeps happening.

Hello, I have the latest version of Thunderbird. I have a problem for 2 weeks and every day I'm working to solve this problem. I have 17 accounts and Thunderbird shows me only 15 accounts. It hides 2 yahoo accounts. If I add other not yahoo account, there are no problems, I can add them. But if I add a yaoo account, Thunderbird doesn't show it/them on Unified folders. Couple months back had to restore computer. Wouldn't let me add my POP gmail account, said had to use IMAP. POP was no longer accepted or something to that effect. So I got IMAP set up. (Of course, I did save my old POP folder with some messages in it.) Ever since setting up the IMAP folder I only get maybe 30 messages each morning. Never more. Which is no way right. I've googled and tweeked the synchronization/storage settings and the server settings. Nothing works. I'll spend hours googling suggestions and trying them, then get frustrated and move on. Then a week or so later I go thru it all again. Nothing changes!! Still only get the very few emails each morning. About 30 or so minutes after the initial download of messages, I'll get a pop up saying imap connection lost. This is SO frustrating. I have no idea what to try next. I never had this kind of issue with any of my POP accounts. Any suggestions? I've probably already tried them but will certainly give it another try. Thanks! Lynn

Hello! All the messages in the sent folder have been lost. When I use webmail, all the messages appear normally. I sent a test message from Thunderbird 151.0 (64-bit) / Windows 10 (64-bit) and the message does not appear anywhere in Thunderbird, but I can see it in "webmail". I added the same email account to TB on another PC and I have the same problem. I have deleted this specific email account from TB and reinstalled it, but the problem persists. In Outlook (iPad and PC) it works normally. Other email addresses of the same domain work normally everywhere. The email server provider cannot help me and claims that there is a technical problem on my side. Is there anyone who has any idea on how to solve this particular problem? Thank you.
