checked with OPTUS no solution. my X@optusnet.com.au cannot transmit but only receive. All the others are OK. Had error messages for at least 3 months when I try to send!! LAST Message was mf-505: Sender Policy - Relay Denied. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.

You may have a mis-configured setup. See the Thunderbird section at https://www.optus.com.au/support/answer/using_an_email_application_with_optusnet_email_1434.

I have a client who has been using Thunderbird for years - in the last couple of weeks when doing his normal scan to email he is suddenly getting this error message, after filling in the email details and clicking send

"Sending of the message failed - there was an error attaching xyz.PDF. Please check that you have access to the file"

Process is... 1. do a Scan to Email via the Brother printer console panel 2. Scan completes and opens the TB new email message - File saves into the default folder \pictures\cc4\email 3. Fill in the recipient, subject and message body 4. Click send message in TB 5. Error above is presented

I can open the the attachment within Thunderbird to check it and it opens just fine - the scanned file is actually there... But click the send button and that error is presented.

I can fix it by removing the attachment and reattaching manually from the email folder where scan is saved.

When I try it myself (remote support), either via the brother CC4 app or getting client to trigger the scan to email, it often works, but invariably he calls back after his next scan to email and it is broken again...

Scans were saving to a Onedrive folder originally, moved the save location back to the standard user/pictures/cc4 folder assuming Onedrive may have been interfering, but it is still behaving the same.

Anyone have any clues what might be going on here? The brother software seems to be doing what it is supposed to. I have reinstalled both the Brother software and Thunderbird with no change... Windows updates maybe?

In the interim I have him doing scan to file and attaching manually, but would be nice to get this sorted for him...

its an Acer laptop running Windows 11 pro 25H2, TB version was 150.0.2 originally but still doing the same on the latest 151.0 that I installed two days ago

Thanks for reading... any help appreciated

I am using Thunderbird email client for past 3 yrs and have been keeping it updated on regular basis. The present updated release is 151.0.1

Yesterday all 3 of my IMAP emails accounts stopped downloading emails. There was a red marked 97% IMAP quota used message in the right bottom about 3 days back which is not visible now.

Is this problem related to this issue? If yes, what's the solution to resolve and start using Thunderbird?

As of a few days ago, I have the latest thunderbird installed and can't say when this began happening, but despite it working for years with two gmail accounts, neither gmail account will now sync / connect and it has authorization issues.

I've then tried running thunderbird in a sandbox / uninstalling / reinstalling / deleting the user profile / registry entries, you name it...when setting up a gmail account in thunderbird, an error of "Authentication error. Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password." come up, despite the password being verified as correct.

If I manually setup gmail using the gmail settings, of imap.gmail.com / port 993 and SSL / TLS and Oauth2, and do a test, I'm met with "Connection to server.imap.gmail.com:993 failed"

Nothing has changed on my computer in the time leading up to this not working. No windows updates performed...no changes to the firewall etc. You name it. I've checked it all.

Strange! Any ideas? Thanks!

I have 4 gmail accounts in Thunderbird. The calendar shows items from all 4 accounts. My issue comes when setting up an invitation. Pretend my accounts are:

personal1@gmail.com personal2@gmail.com personal3@gmail.com business1@gmail.com

If I want to set up a meeting with invitations from business1@gmail.com, I select the account from the left side of the calendar list, then I create a new event on the day I want. The dialogue box correctly shows "business1@gmail.com in the Calendar drop down box at the top. I can then fill in title, location, category, time etc. But when I click on Invite Attendees, thunderbird has already added "personal1@gmail.com" as the first attendee and is waiting for me to enter the contact of the second attendee. If I add people and send it out, it goes from my "personal1" account and not my "business1" account and any replies come into "persoanl1". Same thing happens if I start by selecting the "personal2" or "personal3" accounts first in Calendar view. It always sets "personal1" as the organizer.

I can not figure out why Thunderbird is automatically using "personal1" as a default and sending from there. I am adding a screen shot to show what it looks like after adding an invitee.

I have Thunderbird installed for lots of users on windows 11. Recent updates caused Thunderbird to ask again to set as default, as is normal. However, if you ask it to set as default it brings up a UAC dialog. However, I have installed as a user, and am asking to change a user setting. UAC is inappropriate for the situation.

If I ask Thunderbird to uninstall is again pops up a UAC dialog even though it is not necessary and inappropriate.

Why is Thunderbird asking for more permissions?

I installed as the current user with default installer settings.

I have an account with a Spectrum tx.rr.com address. I use Thunderbird to view and send. The email account is set up as POP3 in Thunderbird. It has worked well until the last couple weeks when I started getting sporadic errors from Thunderbird saying "could not connect to server mail.twc.com; the connection was refused." then a few minutes later it works. Sometimes this happens on the Send and sometimes on the Receive.. I believe the account is set up correctly and I never have an issue through webmail. This can happen 5-10 times/day. It is annoying. Any suggestions on how to fix?

HELLO! I'm having a problem with some messages. If I receive a message and the program places it in the "Offers" section, then when I try to move it to the "Inbox" section, it disappears. And I can't find it anywhere! This isn't just a problem with the latest version of Thunderbird, but has been for a long time. Today I received several messages from my bank that the program classified as "Offers," but when I tried to move them to the "Inbox" section, they disappeared!! Where are they? It's very frustrating because now these messages aren't even on the server!

Thunderbird is displaying the wrong name in the from or correspondents columns in some of my emails. The displayed names that are wrong are from other emails received. For example, one email in the from column is displaying Nancy, but the email is from Grainger with a different email address. I have received emails from Nancy but she is not affiliated with Grainger. This issue is happening with many, but not all, emails. A name displayed in the from column that has nothing to do with who sent the email.
