Firefox used to close completely when I close the last tab. The last update broke that behavior. How can I get it back the way it was? This new behavior is sick!!!

I used to be able to clear all data with no problem, but now it's holding to Gmail login data (I think that's the problem, anyway). I clear all data after each browsing session and have been doing so for a long time, but it's not working anymore. But it is working on my husband's laptop and we're on the same version of Windows (11) and have the same settings. Can someone please assist in figuring out what's happening behind the scenes? I have 2 machines (Win10 and Win11) with FF 140.3.1esr (32-bit) installed which demonstrates the same failure when I enter one site's url:

PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

Chrome at the same machines goes at this url w/o any failures. Any ideas what to change on "about:config" in FF to allow it opening this url w/o such error?

For some reason, all my text has been showing up as bold on my Firefox web browser. However, the same sites do not appear as bold on the mobile Firefox app or in a private Firefox web browser.

While I thought it applied to many different fonts, it seems to specifically target Roboto. This is especially troublesome because my photography website has all body text as Roboto:

This was not always the case, but one day everything began appearing bold several weeks ago. Text that is italicized seems to stay in italics and not bold.

Please let me know how to get my favorite sites back on my home screen. I use them a lot as they are real time savers. When I signed on this morning, it asked if I wanted Firefox to access my computer. I've always said yes and the updates have never caused a problem - until today.

I would appreciate an email ([edited email from community support forum]) letting me know how to get this to work.

When I do "save as " action for an image in the browser it opens dialogue window to save selected image. Unfortunately it displays files and folders in some random order, rather than my preferred order (sorted alphabetically by name, followed by sorting by type).

I can see no rhyme or reason to the way Firefox lists files and folders in the dialogue window, so every time I am saving an image I have to sort things by name and type before I can find what I want.

This is not permanent so I have to repeat this action every time I save an image.

How do I, please set application preferences? to make this setting permanent?

Hello, I imported Bookmarks when I came to Firefox from a previous browser. The experience was terrible and challenges still linger. Firefox has come a long way, however UX still seems to be a 2nd class citizen. Bookmarks now has somewhat duplicate directories and this in turn is causing desktop/phone sync doubt and is likely missing bookmarks.

When sync breaks, it is so confusing. How can I simply have a working Bookmarks sync on desktop/phone?

Perhaps there was a challenge when I need Bookmarks to appear in the top bar when a new Tab is opened, as this was contrary to default Firefox settings.

Firefox declare to be aware of privacy but as soon as I use Firefox to go on the internet, I immediately get connections from these 2 addresses : 34.107.243.93 34.107.221.82 in addition to the address of the site I connect to.

And sometimes, I receive so many connection attempts on ports that are not implied in the connection I have established with the initial site (conntrack) that I am obliged to disconnect the network. This does not happen with other browsers like Konqueror, Falcon, etc. I suffered an attack in this way in the past with heavy consequences. Is there a way to configure Firefox in order to suppress it ?

Firefox freezes when I try to sign into YouTube via Google. Becomes totally unresponsive and I have to close browser. It's the only site this happens on. I have cleared the cache and cookies, unchecked "Hardware Acceleration" and other recommendations from other posts. Please talk to me like I'm your Baby Boomer dad.

When I use on line banking and I want to look at a check, I can not get Firefox to render a check image. Also I downloaded tickets to an event and FF would not render the Q-code on the tickets. I what to know what settings to change in order to do online banking. BTW it works in Chromium Browser, but I do not use it and have little knowledge about Chromium, I just have it on my laptop for troubleshooting.

I have pop up blockers set to allow pop up blockers, but ev en though they are turned on. Firefox will not allow pop up windows in the learning management software (D2L brightspace) used at my university.

You have my operating system as windows 10, it is windows 11 ??? ......... 2nd question ......... when I bring up Firefox it shows the weather for Chicago, I live in Minneapolis/St. Paul area, following your weather location change instruction, the weather still goes back to Chicago.

Hi, thank you for reading this :) Since a week or two I have issues with drops in framerate of videos. It happened first on youtube but since then also on other platforms with other video players.

I've tried troubleshooting mode, fresh install, different network. Nothing helps. Speedtest has me at 160 mbps up and down.

The audio runs smoothly in all this though, it really is just the video that drops.

I use firefox on a Macbook and have this feeling it started to happen when I upgraded to macOS Tahoe.

As per the topic, since the MacOS 26.0.1 update Firefox freezes after resuming from sleep. Specifically, tab selection, page refreshes or menu selections cannot occur. Keyboard command to quit does work and after a reload all tabs, windows and function is restored

None of my extensions have changed and for the first week or so after the initial MacOS 26 release this issue wasn't occurring. No other application or system changes have occurred since 26.0.1.

This has just started happening today. When I open FF my recent tabs do NOT open. I have the option selected in settings to open with recent tabs. In history I do not have the option to re-open recently closed tabs.

Any suggestions how to fix this defect?

how do i recover all the tabs I had open? I do not have and have not had the option to "Restore previous session". I did go to recover tabs, but it was not all of them. Then I tried scrounger.html and that did not work.

Just noticed today my firefox search bar has changed. I'm on Ver 143.0.4

Before I could click on it and it would show my recent visited websites. Now it shows nothing unless I choose history from the down error however after I go to a website I no longer have the option to click in and see my history again. I need to open a new tab.

Any idea how I can change this back as It seems like a very bad feature.

Never had an issue printing google maps until a few weeks ago. Now the print function brings up the page header but no map. The map prints every time when I switch to Chrome. I opened the troubleshooting information page and clicked saved print settings in the printing section. That did not fix the issue.
