Hi, When I get a new email, the sound plays (correctly) and a notification popup appears on my Windows 11 desktop. Unfortunately, the same notification appears over and over.

It seems like it won't go past that email until I read it. I'm expecting the popup to relate to the very latest email that is arriving.

In settings, I have checked Show an alert, Use the system notification, show a tray icon for unread messages. In customize, I have all 3 fields checked with a 4 second timeframe.

I am using 128.3.0esr (64 bit) with nebula

Can this be resolved? If so, please enlighten me.

I want to configure a guest account on a ubuntu system. This is done by configuring a standard account and link the guest account to the standard account.

For firefox that means, that the .mozilla directory of the guest account points to the .mozilla-directory of the standard account. (The files in the standard account are not changes, so every new guest session starts with the same preconfigured environment.)

When starting firefox in the guest session, most of the settings, e.g. homepage, installed language packs, coockie settings, are recognized. Strange enough, the language packs have to be enabled again. Somehow firefox in the guest session realizes that firefox is run the first time in the newly created guest account. In my use case, firefox starts up in English because the German language pack is disabled. In the configured standard account the language packs are enabled, active, etc..

With thunderbird the behaviour is different: Copying the .thunderbird (or appdata/roaming/thunderbird-folder in Windows) leads to a completely configured thunderbird. No "first run"-questions or -settings have to be answered.

My questions are: 1) How does firefox realize that is has a "first run" situation? Why is copying the .mozilla-folder not enough for transfering the profile(s)? How can firefox be configured to use the existing .mozilla-directory without asking first run questions? 2) How can firefox in a first run situation (with complete profiles and correct profile.ini) be started with e.g. an enabled German language pack.

There are about 16 attachments that appear following various folders when I start Thunderbird. I can delete each each individual folder and they appear in Trash. I delete them from trash. As long as I don't close thunderbird the attachments stay gone. When I close and restart Thunderbird, they reappear. Ir I don't delete them before closing, they reappear when I start Thunderbird again. In this case about 1/2 the folders can't be deleted. After several start, close, and delete sequences I'm back to the initial condition. The attached images show Startup with all the extra folders, then the cleanup process, and finally the extra folders in trash. Once in trash they can be deleted.

No changes been made to my Mozilla account unless Mozilla banned me for constructive criticism yesterday. Earlier today Oct 4, 24 booted up laptop no issues. 3 hours later from cold start issue.

My version of FF 131.0 updated yesterday indicates I'm not signed in. Repeated sign-in attempts successful only to be disconnected seconds later. No issues logging into Mozilla Monitor to see progress and navigate around without disconnection. On Android 11 cell phone no issues, on Asus tablet Android 7.0 no issues. What am I doing wrong or missing? See attached screen shots and browser data.

I've been happily using Tbird for many years until in January I got the message "Cannot open inbox as it is in use for another operation" and later "Thunderbird has crashed". I have been using webmail since, not at all satisfactorily. I've made many attempts to get help but always go round in circles - today's framework seems more promising. Can you help please? Richard

how do I actually turn this off? I work for realtors and am constantly filling out contracts with addresses, and doing address searches for them. I have "autofill addresses" turned off under Privacy and security, but it asks me EVERY time I fill out a contract if I want to save the address. I have to say "not now" easily twenty times during my work day. Am I missing something obvious? this has only become a problem in the last couple weeks or so, but I am starting to get frustrated. thanks so much! Nicole

I am running Thunderbird 128.3.0esr on Windows 11 as POP on gmail and having issues with junk mail. Items are being moved into the junk folder despite identifying them as not junk. I go into the junk folder, identify them as not junk, they move to inbox, and at some point Thunderbird moves them from inbox to junk. Nothing I do seems to prevent this from happening.

I decided to turn off junk detection. Attached are screen shots. However, the problem still occurs. Mail in my inbox move to junk without me doing anything.

Help!

My browser keeps crashing repeatedly without me seemingly doing anything to crash it. I ran it in troobleshoot mode and it crashed the same way. I ran anti viruses scans and got nothing. It crashes every 5 to 20 minutes and I can't do anything about it.

Here's what I've done to try to resolve my issue: - Looked up this help article on support.mozilla.org - My precise problem matches "IMAP/POP3 work, but SMTP does not work" and it's for a personal account so I go visit this article on the hellish ever-changing landscape that is The Microsoft Knowledgebase - All of the server connection settings (address, port, TLS flavor) match - ... but Microsoft wants me to use either "Modern Auth / OAuth2" (other methods are being depreciated), neither of which seem to be available in Thunderbird. - This seems strange since the account itself is using Oauth for the IMAP connection. Why isn't it an option for SMTP? - I try to work around it by creating a new app password on my Microsoft account... - I still get an error telling me to enter a new password (with the checkbox to save in password manager)

I just run into a weird bug in version 102.9.1 (yes I still use this for a reason).

I have some Alias email addresses, that is, on my Linux mail server they get re-directed to my main email address. However, when I *reply* to such an email address, Thunderbird swaps the From and To (and Reply-to) addresses, and send the email back to myself, from the From address the person who send the email to me in the first place. This is really bad.

So it seems when the email address does not exist in Thunderbird itself (as it is a redirected Alias) Thunderbird gets completely confused and mixes everything up?

In this case, my actual email address is bk@bart.gen.nz The alias is bart2@bart.gen.nz

When I click 'reply' it sets to TO address to bart2@bart.gen.nz, instead of the Reply-To "info@sartrack.nz", and the FROM address to "info@sartrack.nz". How is that possible? See original incoming email below.

An identical email but directed to my actual email addres, and the Reply works normally.
