My backup isn't loading :(

Hey! My firefox crashed and I had to uninstall and reinstall it. However, when I signed back in the new browser with the account I created in 2020, it did not transfer my bookmarks and extensions. Can you please help me? I am freaking out a bit because it is so important that i get those back. I would REALLY appreciate it!

I'm sorry, before uninstalling, Firefox did download a bookmarks backup file but I don't understand why my firefox is not transferring it in. I've attached the file.

Sync isn't designed to be used as a backup, but is merely meant to sync data between connected devices. Best is always to backup your personal data locally.

Restoring a JSON backup replaces all the current bookmarks with the bookmarks in the backup.

You can look at this tool to inspect a compressed jsonlz4 bookmarks backup.
