My default email address ([redacted-1]@btinternet.com) has been hacked and access to my contact list gained. Many contacts receiving emails purporting to be from me.. I have changed my default address to another one ([redacted-2]@gmail.com). What do you suggest I do or should I report it to another organisation? Thanks, Peter Russell

i can still see my email folders but these popups appear for each email account in thunderbird (mac osx high sierra) never saw them before so seems something has been compromised? tried to screencap but it's only showing about: url but urls zip by and was able to catch the url a few times earlier but not now.

This is after setting FF as default again (3rd time today). Got into this problem trying to report that FF behaves differently when using W11 HOME vs PRO. Don't know when this started. This system has been a "home" system from day 1. When I go check defaults with W11, (only O/S on this laptop) it shows that FF is the default browser for many things.

But if I do an update, or have to do a reboot, first time started, it wants to be made the default *again*.

NOTE: Mozilla sent the above email to me that this is FF on Windows 10. This is W11 HOME, not 10.

I used to ignore these, but today I clicked through to see the extended code and it looks like the unauthorization was to log into my bank account at CHASE, which is concerning. I have a separate login, not an automatic one. I someone trying to get into my bank account?

I have just setup Thunderbird and it seems to work fine. when I login it asks me to to enter my password and if I follow the instructions, I am in, fine. But if I just cancel without entering my password 4 times I am in as well. Is there an settings I need to change so I can not open my mail without my password? I am using Windows 11

As per the title. I have allowed external content for one message (it is disabled by default). Finding the option to do that was easy, because there is a specific message with a drop-down menu to configure access to external content for that particular message.

However, now that I have allowed external content, I do not wish to keep it allowed (no need for external parties to know when and where I open and re-open and re-re-open this e-mail). The drop-down menu to manage the privacy options for this particular message has disappeared. That is inconvenient, to say the least, because I can't see any other way to get to those options. What am I missing?

I have 'Allow remote content in messages' turned off.

When viewing a message with remote content, I see the bar "To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message", however the 'Preferences' dropdown described in Remote Content in Messages does not exist...

I want to show remote content for a single message, but this seems impossible!

What am I doing wrong?

I need your assistance regarding password protection for the Thunderbird email client.

I have configured an IMAP account in Thunderbird and enabled the **Primary Password** feature. However, if I cancel or skip the password prompt during startup, Thunderbird still opens successfully, and all previously synchronized email messages in the Inbox remain accessible. The user is also able to view the mailbox and access email content.

My requirement is that "Thunderbird should not open, display any email messages or allow Send/Receive operations unless the correct password is entered".

Could you please advise if this functionality is supported natively or suggest the recommended approach to achieve this?

5 month before, I had my Apple ID/iCloud account hacked. I have since regained control of the account and updated all my security settings (enabled 2FA, updated passwords, and removed unrecognized devices from iCloud). And I used my previous hacked Apple ID as a iCloud Mail now, (only recieve/archive mail) and change a new Apple ID,My questions are regarding my iOS device and the Firefox browser :-Is it safe to log back into Mozilla/Firefox Sync using this same previous hacked Apple ID?Is it secure to recover my device from iCloud backups and sign back into the same Apple ID at the iOS level? Hi there. I keep getting a pop up that says my computer is infected, etc. It pretends to be windows with several buttons to cure the problem... When I to into security settings windows says it blocked it and gives me the correct time that it was blocked. It keeps popping up even with the Firefox browser. When I watch a movie it does not pop up....??? Movie on u-tube. Thank you for any thoughts. Ok , here it is again.. In a different form..."Your Norton has Expired. " It has a button for "Enable protection" and a protect and close button. The address is d6megpo029pc73bd7vt0.visolabala.co.in I was unaware that I have Norton protection. It offers it at 29.99 per year. It has a "protect" or "close" button under that. I normally click of the faint "X" in the middle of the right of the page. I purchased mozilla vpn. It worked fine for months until a few days ago. Now I can't use the internet at all without turning it off. With the purchased version off I turned on the vpn in the firefox browser. This seems to work fine but it is only in used within the browser. The ;purchased browser is installed on my Iphone and my Mac laptop. Same problem with both. I also received an email a day or so after the trouble started saying my password for Mozilla had been changed. I did not aske for this change. Since my internet access was shut off I couldn't initiate a change of my own. It took me another day to figure out my problem was the browser. At that point I changed my Mozilla login password. I wpou;ld ;like top keep usiong the purchased version of the mozilla vpn on both my laptop and my iphone (13) because it looks more thoroughly at data going in and out of my devices.

I have Thunderbird installed for lots of users on windows 11. Recent updates caused Thunderbird to ask again to set as default, as is normal. However, if you ask it to set as default it brings up a UAC dialog. However, I have installed as a user, and am asking to change a user setting. UAC is inappropriate for the situation.

If I ask Thunderbird to uninstall is again pops up a UAC dialog even though it is not necessary and inappropriate.

Why is Thunderbird asking for more permissions?

I installed as the current user with default installer settings.
