Update version 3.6.28 earlier than 3.6.8 already have

When I click on "Help/About My Hide My IP Browser" at the top of my webpage, it says I have Firefox version 3.6.8.

When I click on "Help/Check for Updates" it says version 3.6.28 is available and advises I switch to this later version.

Is it a later version? When I try to download and install this later 3.6.28 version I keep getting an error message.

What do you suggest?

it is a later version - however, the most current release is firefox 12 - the 3.6 branch won't receive anymore updates. for purposes of security, increased performance & better compatibility with html5 standards you should upgrade to firefox 12.

just download it from getfirefox.com & install over your current installation.
