firefox wil not sync in linux mint

Hector replied

I have linux LMSDE7 Mint, Firefox will not sync. I click on the 3 top right corner lines, sign into Mozzilla, the bookmarks have not synced. Then if I go back to the same lines, it has still the "sign in" field, clicking has no reaction. It seems that mozilla is not signing in I have an other linux version, winux, there I have no problems, it syncs ok.

Hello, the problem could be caused by either Firefox or Linux. So first, check the Linux packages, then make sure the time on Linux is set correctly to the right time zone. Next, check to see if there’s a proxy or firewall that might be blocking data transfer. Check to see if there are any extensions that might be causing the problem. Also, open a new tab, type “about:support,” and click “Repair Firefox.” If none of this works, I’m not sure where the problem might be coming from, because right now we’ve identified a bug with Linux Mint. Have a great day.

Thank you for your reply. When I start firefox, even if I go into settings, at account it says "you are not signed in", at sync is says "sign in into your account to start syncing", then I sign in, it accepts the id and password. There is still no syncing. going back to settings, it will now say again "you are not signed in" but the signing process is now dead. There is no firewall, the date is correct, So I wiped out firefox and re-installed it with a separate download, not from linux. So now everything works as it should. Thanks again, Axel
