You may have to update manually by downloading the current release,
You can find the full installer of the current Firefox release (125.0.1) in all languages and all operating systems here:
I have updated to 125.0.1, but still receive notifications to update, which follows through to a further copy of 125.0.1
Yes, this a bug in version 125. The developers are working on a fix that will come out in 125.0.2 to solve this.
The update bug affects macOS users running non-admin accounts. And appears to throw them in a update loop, where even if they have the latest version, they still keep getting offered to install the same version.
You can check these links on your own to see if version 125.0.2 has been released & download it: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releasenotes https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/mac/
Or I can send you a message here to let you know when it has been released.
Hmmm it looks like fix for the macOS update bug was released in 125.0.1. I misread the notice about this, I apologize.
We are also seeing Windows users unable to auto-update Firefox because of NordVPN's Web Protection feature. Do you have NordVPN installed by chance? Many users have reported disabling the "Web Protection" has solved the auto-updating issue. So I wonder if this can help you even though you are on Mac.
Web Protection is located under the Shield icon on the sidebar to the left of NordVPN's map. In that area you will find "Threat Protection" but should also see "Web Protection".
Please let us know if that solved the problem. Thanks
Hi
We believe that NordVPN have fixed their Web Protection feature and you should find that if you turn this back on, the issue is now resolved.
If you find that it is still not working correctly, please let us know and we can try to follow up with NordVPN.
Thank you.
