How to leave a copy of message on Yahoo server after it is downloaded to Thunderbird. That stays on Yahoo server after I move it to a folder, or delete it. Please can you show server settings required, as I am competent, but a long way from being a Geek. Thank you

sounds like you are using IMAP and desire features that only POP support. That is not settings, but your choice of protocol when you start the new account wizard.
