Mac air to new mac air transfer of firefox

more options

'i bought a new mac air. The Genius Bar did not transfer firefox from my old mac air to my new one. i was on chat for an hour with apple support last night and they could not get it down. Right now, safari is working ok on the new mac air but my wife wants firefox because i guess she has a bunch of bookmarks and other things stored there. plus a history, i guess. The message from firefox on the new mac air reads "we're having trouble getting your pages back". Firefox seems go be working well on the old mac air.

also since we took her mac air to the Genius Bar, she has not been able to receive emails. they are locked down on the Monday Genius so-called worked on the migration/

Hi neddad, probably you already tried Sync, but just in case:

Firefox Sync

Is the old installation of Firefox already logged in to this Firefox Account (or your wife's Firefox Account) and set up to Sync? If you are just setting that up now, please allow four hours for the data to transfer in the background.

How do I set up Sync on my computer?

Then on the new computer, you could connect to the same Firefox Account and allow time for it to Sync.

Transferring Files

I'm not sure what Apple's standard procedure is for transferring application files. For Firefox, all the useful stuff is stored in a profile folder, but each profile folder has a unique partially randomized name, so sometimes there can be issues with simply dropping the folder or individual files onto a new computer.
