Opening link from email in Firefox browser

Before the last Firefox update, when I clicked a link in an email it opened a tab in Firefox. Now nothing happens and I have to copy the link and open a new tab in Firefox and paste in the link. How can I fix this so that the link opens directly? Thank you.

Thank you for asking. As it happens, I just installed another Firefox update, for 82.0, and the problem has been resolved. I was using Mozilla Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail, which is why I concluded that the problem was the browser, not the email client.

Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar. Then Help > About Firefox will tell you what version you have. WARNING: and install any updates.
