As Firefox stops supporting Classic Theme Restorer and Tab Mix Plus add-on after FF57 in November, does anyone know if there's something comparable available or if CTR/TMP are going to be reworked for the new technology?

You have that bass-ackwards, extensions need to conform (or support) to the version of Firefox that they were created to work within. Firefox is being changed and the developer of CTR can't make it to work with the upcoming changes in Firefox. Mozilla is dropping support for XUL / XPCOM / legacy add-ons; XUL is the current "language" for the UI (User Interface).

So there isn't plans to update Classic Theme Restorer or create new one?

Not that I know of   -   sorry.

See (in addition to the ghacks article) :

Maybe you'd like to submit feedback and let them know how you feel about this :

It is not possible to convert CTR to a WebExtension. There are simply no APIs available for all the functions. Some feature could be ported to a WebExtension and other can possibly be done via userChrome.css or a WE based replacement.

I get that the language is going to change and old version won't work. I meant if there was anyone working on new CTR that would work with the new system?
