Scrolling in Firefox on my Macbook Pro has stopped how do I retrieve scrolling?

The trackpad scrolling abruptly stopped on my Macbook Pro a short while ago. I have checked the scrolling on other browsers and in my mail and it is working perfectly well so the problem seems to be with Firefox. Is there a simple fix to get the scrolling back. I note that others have had this problem too.
