I want to sort bookmarks, but when I open library window it is empty.

Bookmarks work OK when I click to open, I tried the suggested method of opening library widow, but cannot proceed as there are no files or folders just blank windows.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
