I need to be informed about updates to Firefox via email so I can start an update process of our Firefox package. Automatic updates is disabled in our package since users have no right to do this.

There is a monthly newsletter, you can sign up for it here - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/central/

An alternative is the Firefox channels newsletter which is dedicated to news about development. You can choose to only receive information about releases. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/channel/
