I wouldn't download untrusted versions of the binary, you never know what could have been put along with it.

Thanks for all the replies. I take your point about binaries on other sites. FileHippo has always seemed reliable though. I think I'll stick with v3.6 for now. Maybe just something screwy with my winXP system. I haven't rebuilt it in a while, so maybe worth doing that. I make a ghost image the instant I finish setup for the first time, so a re-do from scratch is no big deal. I don't store any data on the C: drive & that helps too. Thanks again for all the help.
