Open a new tab does not work in version 3.6.15 on Windows Vista Home SP1

Since upgrading to 3.6.15 the open a new tab button (little + symbol) does not work. Right-clicking on the button does bring up the pop-up menu and you can select open a new tab, but the button itself does not work with a left click.

Thanks,

Warren

Do you have the Ask toolbar? That add-on is known to cause this problem for some, if you have the Ask toolbar uninstall it and new tabs should work again.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Well I don't have the ASK toolbar loaded but as it turns out PC Tools makes a toolbar "Browser Defender" that was causing the problem.

Thanks,
