Thunderbird Donate Window Blocks viewing email search results
Hello,
Ref: Thunderbird 91.1.1 running on Ubuntu Mate 20.04.3 on a Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 Issue: For over a week whenever I do a search of my emails I'm unable to view an email result
In the first attached screenshot one can see a search being done on old emails for a given topic. The blue arrow indicates which email one wants to view in the list of results of the search.
The second screen shot attempts to view that selected email, but the Donation request window prevents viewing. Although long time user and recently donating again to the project this does not fix this issue.
I tried to look at the results of search of another email account but same result. Tried to repair the directory containing the result, to compact, to purge the startup buffer but nothing changes. Searched for a solution but found none, but maybe it's a question of key words for the search.
How to fix this please I really need to see my email search results often and right now nothing for this works.
Thanks
xian

Hello Sfhowes,
Thank you for replying. Please note that a few hours after reporting this issue it miraculously disappeared. Your trouble-shooting suggestions are good and I'll try them if I can (I've no Win10 right now) in the future. I have a last question: how to you add the configuration/trouble shooting T-Bird information to a request? I was able to attach some screen shots but was not able to attach a text file with the T-Bird trouble-shooting configuration info.
In any case the issue has disappeared. In searching for solutions I came across two very useful postings for other issues and thought these should be shared more:

I don't see that here in 91.1.1/W10. Does the same thing happen in safe/troubleshoot mode (Help/Troubleshoot Mode)? When I click a result in Global Search, the message appears in a new tab. I only get the display similar to your 2nd picture when I select 'Show results as list', with all the results in the left pane. But clicking any result opens the message in the right pane. If you don't see the results in the left pane, it may be caused by the dark theme in Linux, or something else indicated by safe mode.
