Automating Delivery Status Notification?

When I send an email, the "Return Receipt" is automatic (checked off in Options), but I have to enable "Delivery Status Notification" manually for each e-mail I send. What is the item in the Configuration Editor that controls this? Or is there another way to permanently set the Delivery Status Notification? Thanks for any help.

Most mail servers ignore Delivery status notification request these days, just as they ignore the return receipt

Thanks for pointing me to the solution. mail.dsn.always_request_on works fine.
